Another wonderful walk
My Friday morning "walk your way to WOW" group are now walking regularly and becoming more and more established. So far this year, we have walked in damp conditions but that's not dampened anyone's enthusiasm.
I was really impressed with Sam this week, it was only her second walk with us and when she told us about how much her first walk had influenced her, I was thrilled. It's so good to be able to introduce people to something that has a major impact on their lives.
Just a few minutes ago, I received this:-
Dear Heather,
What a wonderful walk again.
I have tried to do some exercise for many years, joining numerous gyms and giving up before even getting to the first hurdle - this has been expensive and soul destroying to some degree. Then at the Athena networking lunch up you stand up and do your 30 seconds. I immediately became interested as I love being outside in the fresh air and often would have a stroll in the woods in Loughton especially on days when my spirit needed a lift. But I never really thought about walking as part of a fitness programme as such.
My first walk was booked with you, on what turned out to be a wet miserable day. What more can I say, I enjoyed the walk immensely and have been inspired to include walking in my life as much as I can ever since.
Never have my friends seen me walk. It's a bit of a running joke that they would watch me drive passed them on many occasion whilst they, in my eyes struggled whilst plodding along. Of course I now see that this is not the case and walking is a very enjoyable activity.
Since our first walk I've actually been leaving my car at home and setting off, all be it with rain mac under arm, but never the less I've been walking. I feel like I've actually found an activity I enjoy and can do! I am amazed.
I am so inspired and am looking forward to regular walking with your group and on my own.
My new goal is to get myself to a good level of fitness and maybe train with the group to do a longer walk at some stage. Walking with an inspirational group of women, in my view, is the best medicine I could recommend. Walking is good for the mind body and soul.
I cant wait until Friday. See you soon, blessings Sam
Just had to share this with you.
If you are in the Redbridge or Loughton area and think this might be for you, then email me on heather@walkerscoach.com. We will be starting more local groups soon.
